Every Day Tastes Like Sunday

I would like to introduce you to Nana's Caffé Italiano. A tribute to My Nana. A woman who touched my heart deeper than almost anyone in my entire life. A tribute to a past era. A time when everything was very different than our modern day. A generation that honored their heritage, their traditions and THEIR FOOD.

The Italian Sunday Family Dinner. I grew up secing glimpses of what my older siblings experienced EVERY SUNDAY. But I still saw enough to know what a special time it was - the food and the family. Every Sunday was like a holiday and it was my Nana and her cooking that was the glue that held it all together. It was the best of times all centered around her Italian food and traditions.

This is much more than just a new business venture to me. This is a way for me to honor my family, my Nana, my Mother, Uncle Armando, Brother Billy and everyone that isn't with us anymore. Gone, but far from forgollen.

At my Nanas Caffé Italiano YOU WILL FEEL IT. Hopefully MY children and grandchildren will feel it, too. They will make their own memories of coming here to visit 'their Nana' and someday pass on all of it to future generations. Who knows, right?

I have included some long term and loyal employees and friends from Tomatoes that have been with me throughout the journey. They have truly become 'extended family. Their children will work there and hopcfully it will mean as much to them and their families as it means to me.

"Every day tastes like Sunday". The foods, pastries, sandwiches, coffees, photos, music, etc. ALL OF IT. They are some of my favorite things to enjoy when I'm away on vacation or in the city. I sit and relax and reminiscence about a time and an era that I wish still existed.

This Caffé is years in the making and has taken longer than we all wanted. I know. Trust me. But I want it to be perfect and feel 'just right'.

So for that reason, both our menu offerings and opening hours will launch gradually and expand every week. That way I know every time I open those doors that everything will be 'just right. The way my Nana would expect them. Like a PERFECT SUNDAY.
